Dental procedures, Root canal infection & Root canal alternative

What Is a Root Canal Treatment?

🔍 What Is a Root Canal?

A root canal is a dental procedure used to treat infection or damage inside a tooth. Root canal infection started when the pulp (soft tissue inside the root canals) becomes inflamed or infected due to decay, trauma, or repeated procedures, it must be cleaned and sealed to prevent further issues. Patient may also explore root canal alternative based after the initial inspection.

🦠 Signs You Might Need a Root Canal:

  • Persistent toothache or sensitivity to hot and cold
  • Swelling or tenderness in nearby gums
  • Darkening or discoloration of the tooth
  • Pain when chewing or touching the tooth
  • A pimple or boil on the gums (abscess)

🛠️ Our Root Canal Process:

  1. Diagnosis & Digital X-ray: We examine your tooth and take an X-ray to determine the extent of the infection.
  2. Comfort & Numbing: Local anesthesia is used to numb the area — the procedure is generally no      more painful than a filling.
  3. Cleaning the Canals: The infected pulp is removed, and the canals are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected.
  4. Filling & Sealing: We seal the canals with a biocompatible material to prevent reinfection.
  5. Crown Placement (if needed). A crown is often placed on the treated tooth to restore strength,    function, and appearance.

⏱️ How Long Does It Take?

Most root canal treatments are completed in 1–2 visits, depending on the complexity and infection level.

❗ Is It Painful?

Modern root canal treatments are virtually painless. In fact, most patients report feeling relief from pain after the procedure, not more.

🧾 Aftercare Tips:

  • Mildsoreness is normal — take prescribed painkillers if needed
  • Avoid chewing on the treated side for a few days
  • Maintain regular brushing and flossing
  • Follow up for crown placement if advised dental procedures
